Healthy Halloween Treats

Have you considered starting a new tradition with your family for Halloween this year? Before the big day of trick-or-treating, make your own Halloween treats. Also, It might be fun to help your children collect candy in the name of their favorite charity or organization close to their heart. Possibly, let them keep a few of their candy favorites for all their hard work.

Here is a great site, Halloweencandybuyback.com, where you can send in your candy for a chance to win prizes. The candy is then put into care packages for troops overseas.

Banana Ghosts

First, cut the bananas in half, then place chocolate chips on the bananas to form the eyes and mouth. To display, you can stand each ghost on a plate.

Mandarin Orange Pumpkins

Start by peeling mandarin oranges; and then use your favorite green veggie to form a stem.

Spider Web Mini Pizza Bread

First, preheat oven to 350°F. Take hamburger buns and cut arches around the outside (forming an outline of a spider web). Spread with pizza sauce, and arrange cheese into a spider web pattern. Slice an olive in half. Use one half to cut out legs, and the other half for the body. Arrange into the shape of a spider. Bake for 9-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
