Pastelón, similar to lasagna, is a delicious blend of sweet plantains, meat, and cheeses; the tastes of sweet and salty is the perfect combination to entice your taste buds.
Preheat oven to 350⁰F.
In the Pujols Kitchen Large Sauté Pan, add the hamburger and garlic salt. Cook over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Reserve the juices from the hamburger meat and put back into the pan. Set aside.
Peel and cut the yellow and green plantains into 1-inch pieces. Fill the Pujols Kitchen Medium Caldero with 6 cups of water and bring to a boil. Add the plantains and a pinch of salt. Boil for 10 to 15 minutes, or until soft.
In the same Pujols Kitchen Large Sauté Pan with reserved hamburger juices, add the olive oil, sazon, tomato paste, bouillon cube, and cumin. Let the flavors come together for about 5 to 10 minutes over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup of water and the cooked hamburger meat. Let simmer while plantains boil for 10 to 15 minutes, or until soft.
Drain the plantains. Put the plantains back into the Caldero, then mash with butter.
In the Pujols Kitchen Glass Casserole Dish, layer the meat mixture, plantain mash, and cheese. End with a top layer of cheese. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
*For cheese to be extra golden, broil for 3 to 5 minutes.

5 yellow plantains (super ripe for sweetness)
2 green plantains
6 ½ cups of water (reserve ½ of a cup for plantain mash)
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons of olive oil

½ cup of tomato paste
1 bouillon cube
1 tablespoon of cumin
½ cup of water
½ stick of butter
1 cup of provolone cheese
1 cup of colby jack cheese
